Queen Camilla is thought to have been present at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reunion with King Charles for one major reason. The couple are said to have met with Their Majesties for just one hour, with their two children also present for the meeting with their paternal grandfather.

Although Harry had travelled to the UK earlier that week for work commitments, including the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games, Meghan travelled with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet on July 10. Meghan and their children have not visited the UK since 2022.
Just hours after Meghan and their children joined Harry in Britain, the family travelled to Highgrove House in Gloucestershire for the meeting with the King and Queen.
No further details have been released, with pictures and what was discussed not shared publicly.
Although the King’s presence was expected, Queen Camilla – who reportedly “dropped everything” to attend the meeting – was also said to be eager to be by the King’s side to support her husband.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Times’ The Royals podcast, royal expert Kate Mansey said: “You know, you talk about Meghan being there to support Harry, it feels like Camilla is very much there to support the King.”
Royal editor Roya Nikkhah added: “There’s no way that she is going to let that meeting happen without her.”

To which Kate replied: “Well, no, because what if something is said and then [another ‘recollections may vary’ situation happens].”

Earlier this week, “sources close to the Sussexes” spoke to Vanity Fair and shared a glimpse into the private meeting, saying it lasted for about “an hour” and that it was “completely cloak-and-dagger, orchestrated by the King”.
Last week was Meghan, Archie and Lilibet’s first time in the UK since 2022. Queen Camilla is celebrating her 79th birthday today, marking the day with the release of a new picture and a major announcement.
