When Patsy Kensit announced her comeback on Emmerdale, fans knew that her return was going to be nothing but dramatic. But a rumour has hinted a shocking twist in her Emmerdale character, Sadie King, and it is set to be “sensational”.

The character is going to fake her own death as part of her return storyline, and according to the Sun on Sunday, Sadie is set to return as the villainous character this summer after 20 years. Many of the charaters that Sadie had a romance or a rivalry with still live in the Dale, including Jimmy King, Cain Dingle, Charity Dingle and Robert Sugden. While ITV said they “don’t speculate on storyline speculation”, there are lots of potential stories they could explore with Sadie.

An insider reportedly said: “Patsy’s exit has got everyone talking. Soaps are notorious for faking deaths.

“The scenes are set to be sensational and scriptwriters are excited to see them play out. Patsy’s character Sadie is a great villain, so bosses were keen to give her the opportunity to return, if they need her to stir the pot.”

The ITV soap recently announced their summer spoilers, which focused on six female characters, including Patsy’s character. Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: “From explosive secrets that shatter lives to dangerous new allegiances that threaten to tear the village apart, this season promises to be one of our most intense yet.

“The village is set for a dramatic transformation, and we can’t wait for our audience to see the peril these characters face.”

When Patsy announced her return to the Dale on social media, she mentioned: “Such exciting storylines, great writing great team and the cast have welcomed me back with so much love. Thank you all up in Leeds, one of my favourite cities in the UK.”

Fans also couldn’t wait to see Patsy on TV again, with one commenting: “Counting down the days till you are back on our screens! So excited, hope you are having the best time.”

A second person wrote: “So excited for Sadie’s return maybe get together with Kev.”

And a fan said: “Are you back in Emmerdale? In Sweden, we are so far away when it comes to the episodes.”
