The Beatles legend has watched his children carve out identities of their own — from music and photography to fashion and life largely beyond the spotlight. Now, an exciting new development involving his children has given the family another reason to celebrate. It’s a rare shift in perspective for a dynasty whose story has so often revolved around one of the most famous musicians alive. Yet this chapter belongs to the next generation, and the family connection behind the news makes it especially meaningful. The McCartney name is entering the spotlight again — just not in the way fans might expect.

Paul McCartney has spent decades in the public eye, but glimpses into his family life remain relatively rare. That made a photo of the Beatles legend alongside daughters Mary and Stella McCartney particularly special for fans — and it accompanied news of a project deeply connected to their late mother, Linda McCartney.

Paul revealed that he was joining Mary, Stella and the Linda McCartney food brand for Linda McCartney’s Family Kitchen, a vegan cookbook featuring more than 90 plant-based recipes.

The book was scheduled to debut on June 24 and would combine recipes with family photographs and memories from the McCartneys’ lives together.

Continuing Linda McCartney’s legacy

For Paul, the project was about more than putting together a collection of recipes. It also celebrated Linda’s early commitment to vegetarianism and the causes surrounding it.

“Years ago, before anyone had woken up to the idea of environmental and health and animal welfare issues, Linda was blazing the trail with vegetarianism,” Paul wrote on Instagram.

He recalled how Linda spoke publicly about the lifestyle and encouraged others to embrace it long before plant-based eating became as widely discussed as it is today.

Paul added that the cookbook would include “family photographs and stories from those days,” alongside what he described as healthy and great-tasting recipes.

The announcement came with an affectionate family photograph showing Paul embracing Mary and Stella in a garden.

Fans responded warmly to the rare image. One praised Paul and his “two lovely girls,” while another called him “inspiring.” A third said they were already looking forward to the cookbook.

The McCartney family

Paul and Linda raised a creative family together.

Their daughter Mary became a photographer, while Stella built an internationally recognized career in fashion. Their son James pursued music, and Heather, Linda’s daughter whom Paul adopted, became an artist.

Paul is also father to Beatrice, his daughter with former wife Heather Mills.

Linda died in 1998, but her influence has continued to play an important role in the family’s work, with Linda McCartney’s Family Kitchen offering Paul, Mary and Stella another way to celebrate the values and food she championed.

Paul McCartney’s life with Nancy Shevell

Years later, Paul found love again with Nancy Shevell. The couple married in 2011 during an intimate ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall in London attended by around 30 guests.

Speaking to the crowds outside following the ceremony, Paul was clearly delighted.

“I feel absolutely wonderful. I feel terrific. I feel married,” he said.

Paul’s younger brother Mike served as best man and later recalled one particularly memorable moment from the celebration: a song Paul had written especially for his new wife.

“There was a lovely song that our kid did, and they had a lovely dance together,” Mike said.

For a musician whose songs have formed the soundtrack to millions of lives, the family cookbook represented something far more personal — a chance for Paul, Mary and Stella to revisit their own memories while carrying forward a part of Linda McCartney’s legacy.
