Sweetpea Season 2: Everything We Know So Far, Including the First Look
Rhiannon Lewis is back, and her murderous side is proving harder to keep under control. Sky has released the first teaser for season 2 of Sweetpea, bringing Ella Purnell back as the overlooked woman who discovered that killing can be a surprisingly effective way to reclaim her power.
The darkly comic thriller returns in November 2026, with Rhiannon facing a new promotion, a new romantic interest and, perhaps most dangerously, a copycat killer who could expose everything she has done.
Based on C.J. Skuse’s novel, Sweetpea follows Rhiannon Lewis, a quiet woman who has spent years being ignored and underestimated. After her father’s death turns her already difficult life upside down, the resentment she has kept buried finally boils over. What begins as a violent breaking point develops into something much more dangerous: Rhiannon discovers a taste for murder.
Season 1 established Rhiannon as a seemingly unremarkable young woman whose growing confidence is inseparable from her increasingly lethal impulses. Now, the consequences of those actions are beginning to catch up with her.
What will Sweetpea season 2 be about?
Sky has kept much of the new season under wraps, but the central conflict is already clear.
Rhiannon is entering a new stage of her life. Her career is moving forward thanks to a promotion at the Carnsham Gazette, and she has an intriguing new romantic interest in Gabriel. Yet the apparent fresh start comes with a serious complication: someone else is killing, and the copycat could put Rhiannon’s secret in danger.
Her kill list is still growing, but this time Rhiannon has more to lose. She is forced to confront the consequences of what she has done and reconsider the question posed by her former partner AJ: is she actually a monster?
The season also introduces new complications around Rhiannon’s personal life, with Marina still on her trail and her sister selling the family home.
Sky describes the second season as a continuation of Rhiannon’s murderous journey, with the stakes rising as the consequences of her actions begin to close in.

Who is in the Sweetpea season 2 cast?
Ella Purnell returns as Rhiannon Lewis, reprising the role that puts her at the centre of the series. Purnell also serves as an executive producer on Sweetpea.
Several new faces are joining her.
Rish Shah plays Gabriel, Rhiannon’s new romantic interest. Tamsin Greig joins as Liv, the mother of Rhiannon’s former boyfriend AJ.
Taj Atwal plays Freya, Rhiannon’s formidable new boss at the Carnsham Gazette, while Jenny Walser takes on the role of Daisy, Rhiannon’s new friend.
The returning cast includes Jon Pointing as Craig, Jeremy Swift as Norman, Leah Harvey as Marina, Ingrid Oliver as D.I. Diana St. John, Nitin Ganatra and Alexandra Dowling.

When will Sweetpea season 2 be released?
An exact premiere date has not yet been announced, but Sky has confirmed that season 2 will arrive in November 2026. The series will return to Sky, with Sweetpea also available on NOW.
Sky first confirmed that Purnell would return for a second season in March 2026, following the show’s first season. Filming for the new episodes began in London in August 2025, with Rish Shah and Tamsin Greig among the additions to the cast.
For now, the teaser offers the first glimpse of what is coming, while the full story remains under wraps. One thing is already certain: Rhiannon’s life may look more successful on the surface, but her murderous secret is becoming increasingly difficult to contain.
