Sharon Osbourne Takes High Court Action Over Executor Of Ozzy Osbourne’s Estimated £100 Million Estate

Sharon Osbourne has begun legal proceedings seeking to remove Colin Newman, the accountant who handled Ozzy Osbourne’s finances for decades, from his role as an executor of the late rock star’s will.

The 73-year-old widow has filed a claim with the High Court of Justice in England under legislation that allows the court to remove or replace those responsible for administering an estate. Sharon’s niece Georgina Maszlin and her assistant Melinda Varga, who are also executors, are supporting the application to have Newman removed.

The move places one of Ozzy and Sharon’s longest-standing professional associates at the centre of a potentially significant change in the administration of the Black Sabbath legend’s estimated £100 million fortune.

For now, however, the reason behind the application has not been publicly disclosed. It is also unclear whether Newman, 79, intends to contest the proceedings or has agreed to step aside.

A Financial Relationship Stretching Back More Than Four Decades

Newman was far more than a recent addition to Ozzy’s business affairs.

He had been involved with the Osbournes’ finances since before Sharon and Ozzy married in 1982, establishing a professional relationship that ultimately lasted for more than four decades.

Newman originally crossed paths with Sharon while working as a junior accountant for her father, music manager Don Arden. From there, his connection with the Osbourne family developed into a long-running business relationship.

Over the years, Newman became a prominent figure in the UK music industry and was credited on several of Ozzy’s albums. His relationship with the singer also extended beyond accounting, with the pair described as longtime friends.

Newman additionally served as Sharon’s literary agent.

That lengthy history makes the latest High Court application particularly notable. The man Sharon is now seeking to remove from Ozzy’s estate had been involved in the couple’s financial affairs since before their marriage.

Ozzy’s Estate And Monowise Ltd

Newman also played an important role in Monowise Ltd, Ozzy’s principal UK company.

Corporate records show that Newman served as a director of the business before his appointment was terminated on April 16, 2026. Sharon had joined the board several months earlier, on December 22, 2025.

The company’s records also show that the Estate of John Michael Osbourne became a person with significant control following Ozzy’s death. John Michael Osbourne was the singer’s legal name.

Those corporate changes unfolded in the months following Ozzy’s death and now provide additional context to the latest development surrounding the administration of his estate.

Sharon, Maszlin and Varga are seeking to have Newman removed from his executor role, but publicly available reports have not revealed the specific grounds behind their request.

Courts can replace or remove estate representatives in certain circumstances. The existence of the application itself therefore does not establish misconduct or wrongdoing by Newman, and no such conclusion has been publicly established in connection with the filing.

Ozzy Died Weeks After His Final Black Sabbath Performance

Ozzy died on July 22, 2025, aged 76, only weeks after making an emotional final appearance with Black Sabbath in Birmingham.

His death came shortly after the singer had returned to his home city for a farewell performance, bringing his extraordinary career full circle.

The musician left behind an estate that has been estimated in reports at around £100 million, although published estimates of celebrity wealth can vary and should not be treated as a definitive valuation of an estate.

Following his death, responsibility for administering the estate involved Sharon, Newman, Georgina Maszlin and Melinda Varga.

Now, just over a year later, three of those executors are asking the High Court to remove the fourth.

Newman’s Long And Colourful History With Ozzy

Newman’s relationship with Ozzy was not limited to balance sheets, companies and contracts. Their decades together also produced some characteristically chaotic stories.

One account recalled Ozzy arriving at Newman’s Soho office carrying a dead rabbit and leaving blood sprayed around the walls.

Another episode reportedly occurred in 1984, when Sharon was preparing to give birth to their daughter Kelly. Rather than going to the hospital, Ozzy ended up sleeping on a park bench opposite Newman’s home.

The stories reflected the unusually personal nature of a professional relationship that stretched across much of Ozzy’s solo career.

Newman’s involvement with the Osbourne business world can also be traced through the music industry record. A 2000 Billboard report, for example, identified accountant Colin Newman alongside Ozzy, Sharon and their associated music companies in litigation involving former Ozzy band members Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake.

His connection with Sharon’s family reaches even further back. Newman worked for Don Arden during the turbulent period in which Sharon was establishing her independence from her father’s management operation and building a career alongside Ozzy.

It is equally unclear whether Newman intends to fight the application.
