Tom Pelphrey’s first Emmy win turned into one of the most personal moments of the 2026 ceremony when his emotional acceptance speech left his pregnant fiancée, Kaley Cuoco, visibly in tears.

Pelphrey had previously received an Emmy nomination in 2022 for his guest performance as Ben Davis in Ozark, making his 2026 victory his first win at the ceremony.
His performance in Task had earned him widespread recognition for playing Robbie Prendergrast, a father whose devotion to his children is central to the character.
The timing of the role also carried personal meaning for Pelphrey. In comments following his win, he said his experience of becoming a father helped him connect with the character in a particularly meaningful way.
Cuoco and Pelphrey are preparing to welcome another daughter
