MobLand Season 2 arrives on Paramount+ on September 18, 2026, picking up in the aftermath of a first season that left the Harrigan family more divided than ever. Before Tom Hardy’s Harry Da Souza returns to the dangerous world of London’s criminal underworld, here’s a look back at the betrayals, revelations and violent turning points that shaped Season 1.

At the centre of the story is Harry, the Harrigans’ trusted fixer, who spends the season trying to contain the fallout from a conflict between two rival crime families. What begins with Eddie Harrigan’s disastrous night out eventually becomes an all-out war between the Harrigans and Stevensons — while secrets inside the Harrigan family threaten to be just as destructive as their enemies.

Eddie’s mistake starts a gang war

The Harrigans are an Irish crime dynasty operating a drug empire across North London, led by patriarch Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) and his wife Maeve (Helen Mirren).

The trouble begins with their grandson Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon), who goes out for a drug-fuelled night with Tommy Stevenson (Felix Edwards), the son of rival crime boss Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell).

The night ends in disaster. Eddie fatally stabs a man, while Tommy disappears. It eventually becomes clear that Eddie was responsible for Tommy’s death and turned to the Harrigans for help hiding the body.

Rather than allowing the incident to bring Eddie down, Conrad and Maeve decide to deal with the threat posed by Richie and his wife Vron (Annie Cooper).

That decision sets the season’s central conflict in motion.

The Harrigans and Stevensons go to war

Tommy’s disappearance pushes the two families toward open conflict. The Harrigans see an opportunity to expand into the Stevensons’ fentanyl operation, while Richie demands answers and begins plotting his response.

As tensions rise, Harry finds himself caught between competing interests while trying to protect the Harrigans from the consequences of their increasingly reckless decisions.

The feud eventually reaches its bloody conclusion in the Season 1 finale. Harry and Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine) work together to eliminate Richie and his associates, effectively ending the Harrigans’ immediate war with the Stevensons.

But winning the gang war does little to resolve the problems inside the Harrigan family.

After a diamond deal goes wrong and Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon) faces a potentially fatal situation, Harry turns to Kat for help. Kat agrees to rescue Seraphina, but makes it clear that Harry now owes her.

Later, she offers Harry a potential power-sharing arrangement. Harry refuses.

That decision leaves Kat as another potential threat to the Harrigans, particularly after Harry turns her down again near the end of the season. Paramount+ identifies Kat’s growing influence and Harry’s refusal to work with her as important pieces of the conflict heading into Season 2.

Maeve has been playing her own game

Perhaps the biggest betrayal of Season 1 comes from within the Harrigan household.

Maeve is revealed to have been pursuing her own agenda throughout the conflict. She orchestrated Vron’s killing and helped fuel the war between the two families.

She also revealed Seraphina’s whereabouts to Richie in exchange for information about Tommy, while simultaneously manipulating Eddie for her own purposes.

By the finale, Maeve and Conrad are taken into custody, with Maeve identified as a mole within the family. However, even from prison, she continues to influence events — particularly Eddie.

Her actions make clear that the Harrigans’ internal struggle for power may be every bit as dangerous as their war with the Stevensons.

The Harrigans are arrested — then walk free

The police have been building a case against the Harrigans throughout the season, aided by an undercover officer who became close to Jan and gathered evidence against the family.

Conrad and Maeve are eventually arrested.

But the case begins to collapse when Harry discovers that DNA evidence used against the Harrigans had been planted. A covert recording he makes helps expose the problem with the evidence, allowing the family to secure their release.

The development leaves the Harrigans free to continue their criminal operations — but their internal relationships are already beginning to fracture.

Conrad’s biggest family secret is exposed

The finale also delivers one of the season’s most significant revelations about the Harrigan bloodline.

Seraphina is revealed to be Conrad’s illegitimate daughter from a relationship with an exotic dancer.

But the revelation surrounding Eddie is even more complicated.

Conrad is not Eddie’s grandfather, as everyone had believed. He is actually Eddie’s biological father, having had an affair with his son Kevin’s wife, Bella Harrigan (Lara Pulver).

Kevin had long suspected something was wrong. The truth is eventually confirmed through his conversation with Bella, while Maeve is the one who tells Eddie about his real parentage.

The revelation fundamentally changes Eddie’s position within the family. Rather than simply being Conrad’s grandson, he is his biological son — and Maeve sees an opportunity to use that knowledge to influence his future.

Harry’s marriage reaches breaking point

While Harry spends most of the season dealing with criminal threats, his personal life is also falling apart.

His marriage to Jan Da Souza (Joanne Froggatt) deteriorates as he repeatedly misses counselling appointments and remains consumed by the Harrigans’ problems.

By the finale, the pressure finally boils over.

After Harry returns home and tells Jan that Richie is dead, she tells him that she wants a divorce. Their argument escalates in the kitchen, and Jan ends up stabbing Harry in the chest with a knife.

The shocking moment leaves Harry’s fate hanging as the credits roll. Paramount+ later confirmed that Harry survives, setting up one of the major questions surrounding his role in Season 2.

Where Season 1 leaves the Harrigans

By the end of the first season, the Harrigans have defeated their immediate rivals, but their victory comes at a heavy cost.

Conrad and Maeve are behind bars. Kevin is becoming more confident and increasingly prepared to challenge his father. Eddie has learned the truth about his parentage and is being encouraged by Maeve to claim a greater place within the family. Seraphina has her own ambitions, while Kat McAllister remains a powerful outside threat.

And Harry — the fixer who spent the season trying to keep everyone else alive — is left wounded after the confrontation with Jan.

The family may have survived its war with the Stevensons, but the Harrigans are now fighting on several fronts at once.
