House of Guinness Season 2 Is Officially Happening — But Fans May Have a Long Wait Ahead

The Guinness family saga is coming back. Netflix has officially renewed House of Guinness for a second season, giving fans an answer after the first season ended on a major cliffhanger — but there is already one catch: the next chapter is still some time away.

Netflix confirmed the renewal in August 2026, with creator Steven Knight returning to continue the story of the Guinness dynasty. Production is due to begin in early 2027, meaning viewers should not expect the new season immediately.

Arthur Guinness’ Fate Remains the Big Question

Season 1 ended with Arthur Guinness’ political ambitions reaching a dangerous turning point.

At his campaign rally, Patrick Cochrane arrives intending to assassinate Arthur. The episode cuts away after the sound of a pistol shot, leaving viewers without an immediate answer about where the bullet went or what happened to Arthur.

That unresolved moment is now set to carry directly into Season 2.

Steven Knight has acknowledged the question surrounding the finale, saying he wants audiences to wonder where the bullet will go — while admitting that he is wondering the same thing himself.

With the series officially renewed, Arthur’s fate is likely to be one of the first major questions Season 2 addresses.

The Guinness Family Story Continues

Set in 19th-century Dublin, House of Guinness begins after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness in 1868. His four children — Arthur, Edward, Anne and Benjamin — suddenly have to deal with the enormous legacy their father left behind, including the future of the Guinness brewery.

The series uses that inheritance as the foundation for a larger family drama filled with ambition, rivalries, romance and conflicting loyalties.

Season 2 will continue following the four siblings and the people surrounding them, including their spouses, lovers, enemies and friends. James Norton’s Sean Rafferty, the family fixer, is also part of the continuing story.

Knight says there is still much more to discover about the family and their relationships. He has described Season 2 as another stage in the siblings’ growth, with the story exploring what changes and what remains the same as they expand the Guinness empire.

Steven Knight Is “Beyond Thrilled” to Return

The renewal reunites the series with its creator, Steven Knight, the writer and creator of Peaky Blinders.

Knight said he was “beyond thrilled” to continue telling the story of the Guinness family and explore the characters and their increasingly complicated relationships as they build the empire.

His involvement also remains a major part of the show’s identity. While House of Guinness shares some of the darker historical-drama qualities associated with Knight’s previous work, its story is rooted in the Guinness family and the world of 19th-century Dublin and New York.

The first season was also built around the tension between the family’s personal lives and the wider consequences of their decisions. As Knight previously explained, choices made over personal matters can have consequences for the future of Ireland.

When Will Season 2 Arrive?
