The Prince of Wales was visiting Dartmoor earlier this week when he reportedly crossed paths with writer Tony Lee, who was on a research trip in the area.

Lee later shared a photograph on Instagram showing William, dressed smartly in a suit, stopping in the street to pet his spaniel, Darcy.

Alongside the picture, Lee wrote: “That moment when you’re on a research trip in Dartmoor and you’ve stopped where Conan Doyle stayed while writing THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES and you bump into HRH Prince William and he asks about your puppy.”
