EXCLUSIVE: MEGHAN MARKLE ‘INVITED TO PARIS FASHION WEEK’ — BUT HER FIRST MAJOR PUBLIC APPEARANCE SINCE RETURNING TO THE UK HANGS IN THE BALANCE

MEGHAN MARKLE HAS ALLEGEDLY BEEN HANDED THE INVITATION SHE WAS WAITING FOR — BUT THE DUCHESS OF SUSSEX HAS YET TO DECIDE WHETHER SHE WILL STEP BACK INTO THE SPOTLIGHT IN PARIS.
Meghan Markle is considering a return to Paris Fashion Week just weeks after relocating to Britain with Prince Harry and their children, the Daily Express understands.
According to sources speaking to the newspaper, Meghan has been invited to attend the 2026 event and has been weighing up whether to make the trip to the French capital.
But this time, the decision comes with an added layer of significance.
If she goes, Paris could become the setting for Meghan’s first major public appearance since the Sussexes’ move back to the UK.
‘PARIS OFFERS THAT’

A source told the Daily Express that Meghan is keen to make the trip alone, with Harry expected to remain at home with their two children.
“She’s keen to go alone and hold her head high,” the source claimed.
“Meghan deliberately hasn’t attended an event in the UK yet; she’s been holding out for the perfect time, and Paris offers that.”
The Duke of Sussex has already carried out several solo engagements since returning to Britain, while the couple continue to keep their professional commitments largely separate.
For Meghan, however, the fashion capital could provide a very different kind of stage.
THE INVITATION HAS CHANGED THE EQUATION
Meghan has yet to make a public appearance since the family’s move, although she has continued sharing glimpses of her life on Instagram and has reportedly been spotted at a pub.
According to the source, Paris Fashion Week fits closely with the lifestyle and fashion-focused image Meghan has been building since leaving royal life.
But there is reportedly some hesitation.
The Duchess faced considerable criticism after last year’s Paris Fashion Week appearance, when questions were raised over how she had secured access to the Balenciaga show.
This year, the source insisted the circumstances are different.
“She has been invited through official channels,” they claimed.
The insider added that Meghan has still been weighing up the decision because of the timing.
LAST YEAR’S PARIS APPEARANCE STILL LOOMS LARGE
Meghan attended Paris Fashion Week last year, making an eye-catching entrance at Balenciaga in a striking white suit and dramatic cape.
The appearance quickly became a major talking point.
It was later reported that Meghan had contacted Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli herself about attending, despite formal invitations being customary for celebrity guests.
She also faced criticism after footage appeared to show her laughing when a model fell on the catwalk.
Her spokesperson subsequently denied that Meghan had laughed at the model.
Another controversy erupted over an Instagram video showing Meghan relaxing in a limousine while travelling near the area where Princess Diana was killed. Her spokesperson denied that she had filmed near the Pont de l’Alma tunnel.
Against that backdrop, another Paris appearance would inevitably attract attention.

A VERY DIFFERENT RETURN TO THE SPOTLIGHT
That may be precisely why the decision carries so much weight.
Meghan has deliberately kept a low public profile since returning to Britain. A high-profile appearance at one of the fashion world’s biggest events would immediately change that.
And unlike last year, sources claim she now has a formal invitation through official channels.
Whether Meghan ultimately boards the plane remains undecided.
But if she does make the journey, Paris could become the place where the Duchess finally steps back into the spotlight — and begins a very different chapter of her life in Europe.
