Ryan Seacrest has already witnessed plenty of memorable moments on Wheel of Fortune, but one contestant’s extraordinary performance left even the host struggling to contain his amazement.
Nneka Walker, a Nigeria-born contestant living in Evans, Georgia, dominated the October 9 episode, solving puzzle after puzzle before claiming a spectacular $85,705 prize package.
Her performance was so impressive that viewers quickly began calling her one of the strongest contestants of Season 44.
And the biggest surprise came during the Bonus Round, when Walker solved a difficult puzzle to win a brand-new car.

Walker, who coaches her daughter Maya’s recreational soccer team, faced Natasha Ford of Cary, North Carolina, and Scott Svendsen of Eureka, South Dakota.
She wasted no time establishing herself as a serious competitor.
Walker correctly solved both opening Toss-Up puzzles, securing an early advantage.
She then continued her winning streak with a puzzle in the “Famous Duo” category.
The answer was “Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers,” referring to the legendary Hollywood dancing partnership.
The successful solve helped bring Walker’s total to an impressive $21,400.
Ford, who owns and serves as creative director of a luxury event venue, managed to respond with a correct solution in the “Before & After” category.
Her answer, “Movie Star Wars,” earned her $3,900 and the valuable Wild Card.
But Walker’s commanding lead remained intact.
A Costly Mistake Gives Walker Another Opportunity

During the Mystery Round, Svendsen appeared ready to mount a comeback.
The South Dakota contestant, who revealed that he once won a college bathing suit competition, landed on the Express Train and began rapidly calling letters.
He accumulated $4,600 while revealing much of the puzzle.
However, his promising turn ended abruptly when he guessed the letter “N.”
The letter was not in the puzzle, causing him to go Bankrupt.
Walker seized the opportunity.
She correctly solved “Beautiful Bamboo Forest,” winning a trip to Tokyo, Japan.
The prize increased her total to $33,900.
By that point, she had built a substantial advantage over both opponents, but she was far from finished.

Walker’s most impressive stretch came during the Triple Toss-Up round.
Rather than allowing her competitors an opportunity to close the gap, she solved all three puzzles.
Those correct answers added another $10,000, raising her total to $43,900.
Her speed and accuracy caught Seacrest’s attention.
“You really know how to play this game!” the host exclaimed.
Svendsen eventually secured a win in the final regular puzzle, correctly solving “Beach Volleyball.”
He finished the episode with $9,900.
Ford ended with $3,900.
Walker, meanwhile, advanced to the Bonus Round with $43,900 already secured.
Her next challenge offered the chance to turn an outstanding performance into an unforgettable victory.
Can You Solve The Bonus Round Puzzle?
Walker selected “What Are You Doing?” as her Bonus Round category.
The show automatically revealed the standard letters R, S, T, L, N and E.
She then chose C, M, P and O as her additional letters.
After those selections, the puzzle appeared as:
PO_N_ N T_E P_ _EMENT
With only a few seconds to work out the answer, Walker studied the board.
The incomplete phrase offered limited clues, and the pressure was high.
But she needed only a brief moment before confidently delivering the correct response.
“Pounding the Pavement.”
The solve secured another major prize.
A Brand-New Mazda Pushes Her Total Beyond $85,000

When Seacrest revealed the contents of Walker’s Bonus Round envelope, it contained a Mazda valued at $41,805.
Combined with her earlier winnings, the vehicle brought her total prize package to $85,705.
The victory capped an extraordinary game in which Walker had controlled nearly every major stage of the competition.
From the opening Toss-Ups to the final Bonus Round, she consistently capitalized on opportunities while keeping mistakes to a minimum.
Her performance also gave her a memorable place among the early contestants of Season 44.
Viewers Call Walker The Season’s Standout Contestant
Following the episode, viewers praised Walker’s remarkable performance on Reddit.
“Nneka did amazing tonight,” one person wrote.
Another declared her the “Best contestant of the season so far.”
A third viewer summed up the one-sided competition more bluntly.
“Nneka just steamrolled everybody,” they commented.
Others simply praised her ability to solve puzzles quickly and accurately.
“She’s a fantastic player,” another viewer wrote.
The enthusiastic reactions reflected just how decisively Walker had dominated the game.
A Night To Remember On Wheel of Fortune
Walker’s victory was more than a successful Bonus Round.
She solved both opening Toss-Ups, claimed the “Famous Duo” puzzle, won a trip to Japan and swept all three Triple Toss-Ups before adding a new Mazda to her prize package.
Even Seacrest appeared impressed by her command of the game.
With $85,705 in winnings and a near-flawless performance, Nneka Walker delivered one of Season 44’s most memorable episodes — and gave viewers an early contender for the season’s standout player.
Wheel of Fortune airs weekdays in syndication, with episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu and Peacock.
