The performance gives the relatively overlooked movie a second life on streaming, several years after its theatrical release.
Neeson, now nearly 75, has begun to slow his pace somewhat, but he continues to take on prominent roles across action, comedy, and thriller films.
Last year, he appeared alongside Paul Walter Hauser and Pamela Anderson in The Naked Gun, one of the year’s standout action comedies. The movie earned more than $100 million at the box office, making it one of the relatively few Liam Neeson-led action films to cross that mark. What Is In the Land of Saints and Sinners About?
Set in Ireland during the 1970s, the film follows Finbar Murphy, played by Liam Neeson, a man determined to leave his violent past behind.
Finbar has built a quiet life in the remote coastal town of Glencolmcille, away from the political violence affecting much of the country. That peaceful existence is threatened when a group of terrorists arrives in town under the leadership of Doirean, a ruthless woman portrayed by Kerry Condon.
Finbar soon becomes caught in a dangerous game of cat and mouse. As the situation grows increasingly violent, he must decide whether to protect the life he has built by revealing his secret identity or stand up for the people around him.
