PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN FACE FRESH SECURITY BACKLASH — ROYAL COMMENTATOR ACCUSES SUSSEXES OF TRYING TO ‘CONTROL’ REVIEW

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing fresh criticism as the row over their UK security once again takes centre stage.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Britain last month, six years after leaving for a new life in the United States. But their latest chapter in the UK has been overshadowed by renewed questions surrounding the state-funded security arrangements available to them.

The couple’s security was downgraded following their decision to step back from royal duties, and their return has been accompanied by a series of disputes and reports surrounding the issue.

Now, amid a review of their security arrangements, the Sussexes have been accused by royal commentator Angela Levin of attempting to influence the outcome.

Speaking to TalkTV, Levin claimed: “It’s blackmail, isn’t it? That’s what I think.”

She continued: “If the two of them now, if you don’t give them exactly what they want, when they want, I think it’s a blackmail thing.”

Reports have also suggested Harry and Meghan could consider returning to the US permanently if the latest security review does not go in their favour.

Levin went further, saying she would welcome such a move.

“If they do go back, I’d be delighted,” she said, adding that she believes the couple have created “real nuances and extremely unpleasant” circumstances in the UK.

She also questioned why British taxpayers should fund their security, saying: “Why should we pay them money for everything they’re doing? They’re not doing anything (for us).”

The comments add another layer to an already contentious dispute over how much security Harry and Meghan should receive while in Britain — and whether their return to the UK can work without the unresolved issue continuing to dominate the headlines.
