Sarah Ferguson is reportedly preparing to return to Britain after seven months away, with the former Duchess of York said to have secured a six-bedroom property in the Home Counties costing £10,000 a week.

According to The Sun, Ferguson has rented a six-bedroom property somewhere in the Home Counties, a region encompassing Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent and Surrey.

A source claimed Ferguson had been considering a return for some time but needed to find somewhere suitable before making the move.

“She’s had her eyes on a return for some time but it takes time to find the right new house,” the source said.

The source added: “She hasn’t had to worry about accommodation for 20 years as she had Royal Lodge with Andrew. Now’s the right time to get back to her life.”

Ferguson left Britain at the beginning of 2026 amid renewed scrutiny surrounding the Royal Family’s links to Epstein.

King Charles had ordered Andrew to leave Royal Lodge, leaving Ferguson to make her own arrangements for somewhere to live.

According to the report, Ferguson believed the intense attention surrounding Harry and Meghan could actually make it easier for her to return without attracting the same level of scrutiny.

“With everyone looking out for Harry and Meghan she thought she could slip back under the radar after seven months away,” the source claimed.

Her belongings are reportedly already being moved. Removal vans were said to have collected some of Ferguson’s possessions from Andrew’s home in Sandringham earlier in the week.

She is expected to move into the new property by Monday, August 31.
