The 26-year-old’s music tells the story of his life leading up this, like the ten years he spent on the road with his former band, Celtic Thunder and his role on FOX’s musical comedy-drama series.

He gave fans a taste of his tunes  during a performance on the Today Show. The actor/singer was named Elvis Duran‘s “Artist of the Month” and performed his his single “Saltwater” on the morning show Tuesday, March 12.

The songs “reflect a deep understanding of our universal humanity: our common struggles, triumphs, relationships, and loneliness; our longing for love, escape, and discovery,” according to his web site.
