If reports that Harry and Meghan Markle “expected to be let back in” are accurate, then the Sussexes may have badly misread the tone coming from the Royal Family.

They have been back in Britain for only a matter of weeks after six years away, yet their return has already become entangled in arguments over their status, their relationship with the Palace and what role, if any, they could have within the monarchy.
