Meghan Markle is at the centre of a fresh privacy scare after her mobile phone number was reportedly leaked from a parents’ WhatsApp group at the UK school attended by her children.

The Duchess of Sussex was said to have been added to the Year 3 group just one night before Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet began their first day at the school.

But what was supposed to be a routine welcome among parents has now become a much more sensitive story.

According to reports, screenshots said to be from the private group have been circulating online. One message allegedly read: “Welcome to Meghan who has Archie joining tomo”, followed by another parent replying: “Welcome!!”

Meghan then reportedly responded: “Hi moms! Thanks for the warm welcome (heart emoji). So happy to be a part of this community xx”.

The leak was first reported by The Sun, while sources close to the Sussexes reportedly described the sharing of such information as disappointing. The Mirror said it had contacted Meghan’s spokesperson for comment.

A PRIVATE SCHOOL CHAT TURNS INTO A SECURITY HEADACHE

The alleged leak comes at an awkward moment for Harry and Meghan, just one day after reports emerged that they had “reluctantly” removed Archie and Lilibet from another school after only two days because of security concerns.

It was understood that unexpectedly heavy traffic had turned what should have been a 30-minute journey into an hour-long trip during rush hour.

One reported incident added to the concern when the couple’s vehicles and their security team struggled to remain together in convoy during the school run.

According to Hello!, the Sussexes’ bodyguards had not been able to conduct a full reconnaissance of the route during term time, instead practising the journey during the quieter summer holidays.

The children have since started at another school, with parents reportedly given just 24 hours’ notice that Harry and Meghan’s children would be joining.

ARCHIE AND LILIBET ARRIVE AT THEIR NEW SCHOOL

Harry and Meghan were seen arriving at the private village school in a convoy of two 4×4 vehicles, accompanying seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet for their first day.

The arrival reportedly caused a flurry of messages among parents the previous evening, as news spread through the school community.

One parent told the Mirror that the parents’ WhatsApp groups had been “buzzing” and said the situation had all happened very suddenly.

The parent also described the school as highly academic, with a close-knit village atmosphere where parents regularly speak to one another.

On the main class group, one parent reportedly wrote: “Please welcome Meghan and Archie to the group”.

Another parent said a crowd saw the vehicles enter the school grounds shortly after 8.15am, with security guards getting out and opening the doors for the family.

HARRY’S SECURITY REVIEW ADDS TO THE TIMING

The latest controversy also comes as Harry has secured a new review into his right to taxpayer-funded security in the UK.

As previously reported by the Mirror, the government is expected to hold a Risk Management Board hearing following Harry’s request, after months of appeals over his security arrangements.

Harry previously lost his High Court case and a subsequent Court of Appeal hearing before writing directly to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to request a fresh assessment of his security situation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Britain last month for what sources close to the couple have described as an “extended stay”. One government source suggested that “the goalposts have moved”.

Harry, 42, lost his right to automatic taxpayer-funded security in the UK after he and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the United States.

Since then, the Duke has continued appealing for the British government to reconsider the decision, arguing that he remains a target for terrorists and fixated individuals when in the UK.

Now, with Archie and Lilibet attending a British school again, an alleged leak from a private parents’ group has added another layer to the family’s already closely watched security situation.
