Keke Palmer is officially stepping into one of television’s biggest hosting roles.
NBC announced on Tuesday, Aug. 4, that Palmer will become the new face of The Voice beginning with Season 31, marking the first time Carson Daly will not host the long-running singing competition.
“That’s right. It’s true. I’m hosting The Voice. I’ll see you guys there,” the 32-year-old said in a video shared on Instagram after the announcement.

Although Daly is leaving the hosting role after leading the show since its very first season, he isn’t saying goodbye completely. The longtime host will continue working behind the scenes as a producer.
Season 31 is bringing much more than a new host. NBC is relaunching the competition as The Voice: Celebrity, replacing everyday contestants with a cast of well-known stars from entertainment, sports, and social media.
The celebrity lineup will include actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality TV personalities, all competing to become the first-ever champion of the new format.
The coaching panel is changing as well.
Joe Jonas will join The Voice as a coach for the first time alongside returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green.
To introduce Jonas, the show posted a humorous video on social media featuring the singer acting as the set’s head of security. As he checked names off a guest list, he jokingly left Palmer off the list before eventually welcoming the coaches inside.

new Coach! Joe Jonas joins The Voice Season 31 coming in 2027 on NBC,” the show’s caption read.
The celebrity edition will also introduce several new behind-the-scenes segments designed to give viewers more access to the competition.
Voice Boot Camp will follow contestants as they prepare for the Blind Auditions, while the VIP Room will allow celebrities to watch each other’s performances as they happen. Later in the season, the Workroom will capture rehearsals, strategy sessions, and final preparations ahead of the Battle Rounds.
Fans won’t have to wait until 2027 to see The Voice return.
Season 30 premieres on Sept. 21, featuring Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine in the coaches’ chairs.
Levine recently shared how much he has enjoyed returning to the NBC competition after rejoining the series in Season 27.
Speaking with People in April, the Maroon 5 frontman said he has been “having so much fun doing it” since coming back.
“Since I came back a few seasons ago it’s just been a blast and I’m super happy to keep it going as long as they’ll have me,” Levine said.
With Palmer taking over hosting duties, Joe Jonas joining the coaching panel, and a celebrity-focused competition replacing the traditional format, Season 31 is shaping up to be one of the biggest changes The Voice has ever seen.
