Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos may be preparing to welcome a new four-legged family member after an adorable puppy made a surprise appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark.

During the Monday, October 12, episode, Consuelos walked onto the set carrying a puppy named Lucas, immediately giving viewers a glimpse of the sweet bond forming between him and the little dog. Lucas stayed on Consuelos’ lap for the first several minutes of the show, while the couple repeatedly paused their conversation to admire their furry guest.

The appearance was part of the show’s “Adoption Week,” which highlights dogs looking for loving homes. Ripa reminded viewers that she and Consuelos had previously adopted their beloved dogs, Chewie and Lena, after the animals appeared during similar adoption segments.

As the couple introduced Lucas, Ripa joked that Consuelos seemed like a different person when he walked into her dressing room holding the puppy that morning. She described seeing a “kinder, gentler” side of her husband, suggesting that Lucas had already made quite an impression.
