Only two contestants claimed the crown in the hotly anticipated Outlast: The Jungle finale.

The Netflix series dropped its first six episodes last week and left viewers waiting for the final two instalments, which premiered today (June 17).

In case you completely missed the survival show, Outlast follows 16 strangers who are dropped into the jungle in Panama with nothing but basic supplies.

They must use their wits and outdoor skills to survive whatever challenges Mother Nature serves up, but they can only win as a team. All their efforts go towards winning a huge $1 million prize pot, which the victorious team split evenly between them.

The final survivors included Sarah Awad, Abby Chu, Morgan Colburn, Braxton Fish, Pharaoh Gayles, Nikki Hru, Maddy Jones, Leiya Pillitteri and Wes Saunders.

But only two went on to claim the victory.

Who won Netflix’s Outlast: The Jungle?

Nikki Hru and Maddy Jones ultimately won the competition, meaning they walked away with $500,000 each.

They were the only two Team Alpha members still in the competition after cutting Leiya Pillitteri from their group on the final night.

Leiya, 26, is a triathlete who is well-versed in building shelters and tools from nothing but bamboo. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Maddy grew up hunting with her dad and could “shoot and field dress a deer by the age of 8”.

Considering their collective skills, it’s no surprise the pair reigned victorious.

Team Alpha’s Halle Cooley missed out on the big prize after quitting the competition just 26 days in. The model recently reflected on her early exit, admitting the challenge was “the hardest thing ever”.

She shared on Instagram: “Even though it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, what a freaking experience!!! I had zero survival skills going in and was terrified. I only relied on my values and work ethic. It’s incredible what your body can do when you put your fears aside.

“This truly made me a better person, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the people I was with.”
