“The same girl who was turned down by Broadway?” That was the stunned reaction from many in the crowd as Sydnie Christmas closed her One Night Only show at the Adelphi Theatre on September 9 with a breathtaking live rendition of “My Way.”
The Britain’s Got Talent 2024 winner, known for her powerhouse vocals and emotional storytelling, delivered a performance that left the audience speechless.

Without flashy effects or a large ensemble, Sydnie owned the stage — her voice soaring through every lyric with grace, power, and authenticity. Many in attendance couldn’t help but wonder how someone with such remarkable talent had once faced rejection after rejection.
This performance came shortly after her standout turn as Cruella de Vil in 101 Dalmatians at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, marking yet another milestone in her fast-rising career. And with the Adelphi show being filmed for PBS in the U.S., Sydnie’s reach is only expanding further — a clear sign that her story is just getting started.
In an exclusive chat with The Irish Sun’s Bizarre columnist Jack Hardwick, Sydnie revealed that she’s officially heading back into the studio — this time to record her first album of original songs.
“It’s so exciting,” she said. “I never thought I’d have an album of original songs. I’ve been writing since I was young, but I never thought any of it would see the light of day. Now, as an adult, I finally get the chance to work out my own style.”

While her debut album My Way was a collection of classic covers, her new material will dig deeper into her own experiences. “People have seen me and just think, ‘She’s musical theatre,’ which is all I’ve ever known,” Sydnie explained. “But it’s not all I sing — or have ever sung. This new music talks about my life, my adventures, and my experiences.”

She also shared that the first person she plans to play her new songs to is none other than BGT judge Amanda Holden. “All it takes is for me to message her and she replies and vice versa,” she said with a smile. “I have a demo that I need to send her. I’d never ask her to plug it for me, but I’d love her opinion.”

Despite a packed schedule — from West End performances to international TV appearances — Sydnie remains grounded, blending her down-to-earth humor with dazzling showmanship. “I’m such a tomboy — always in jeans and trainers,” she laughed. “But on stage, I love stepping into this glamorous version of myself. I love the glitter and that incredible energy.”
Her Adelphi Theatre performance of “My Way” wasn’t just another showstopper; it was a declaration of resilience. The once-overlooked singer who faced countless no’s now commands some of the biggest stages in the world — doing things her way, and winning hearts along the way.
