A £1,000 question looked almost impossible to get wrong… then it ended one contestant’s Millionaire dream. A contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire saw an early opportunity for a big run disappear after stumbling on a question many viewers instantly called one of the easiest ever asked. Walking away with nothing, the shocking exit sparked a wave of reactions online as fans debated whether the pressure of the hot seat can make even the simplest answers feel impossible. Sometimes the smallest questions deliver the biggest heartbreak.

A WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire player was left stumped by a very easy question over the weekend.

The player could have bagged £1,000 but sadly left with nothing… could you have done better?

One viewer of the ITV show, which aired on Sunday night, even said they had “genuinely never heard” of the correct answer.

Player William was off to a strong start last night, but things came crashing down when he was asked a question about planes and flying.

The question that host Jeremy Clarkson asked him was: “What term is used for a scheduled flight flown with a near empty plane in order to preserve a landing slot?”

The options were: A) Red eye flight, B) Ghost flight, C) Maiden flight, or D) Charter flight.

William answered with option A, which was red eye flight.

He was then gutted to learn that the correct answer was in fact option B, ghost flight.

Because William got the question wrong, he sadly lost out on £1,000.

Looking gutted as he learned of his fate, William was left empty-handed has he departed the studio.

Fans of the quiz show were quick to react to William’s wrong answer on X.

“Genuinely never heard of ghost flight – I might have got that wrong myself,” said one person.

“Bless him, looked like he was going to cry,” added another.

A third then penned: “I bet that lad on who wants to be a millionaire wishes he was on a ghost flight oot that studio rn.”

“As if someone just walked away with nothing,” exclaimed another person.

“Oh no! William got the £1000 question wrong and leaves empty-handed. And he was doing so well until that point,” said a fifth.

While a sixth wrote: “#whowantstobeamillionaire is going well tonight.”

And after more players were booted off, a seventh said: “This must be the worst run of contestants ever!”
