A question many viewers thought was impossible to miss suddenly brought one contestant’s run to a halt on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. What looked like a straightforward TV question quickly became an unforgettable moment as the pressure of the hot seat turned a familiar answer into a costly mistake. The surprise slip-up has sparked plenty of debate, with fans split between calling it an easy miss and a reminder that everything feels different when the clock is ticking.

A WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire player was left stumped by a very easy question last night, but would you have got the answer right?

The player could have bagged £4,000 if they got the answer correct on the show, but sadly they walked away with only £1,000 of their prize money.

 

 

Ashley looked instantly confused as host Jeremy Clarkson read her the question, which ultimately beat her on the show.

He asked her: “What precedes ‘… Amazing Spaces’ in the title of a Channel 4 property series?”

The four available answers were: A) Kevin McCloud’s, B) Kirstie and Phil’s, C) Sarah Beeny‘s or D) George Clarke‘s.

Ashley was instantly drawn to answer B) before second guessing herself and asking Jeremy if she could use one of her lifelines.

The lifeline she used was to ask Jeremy himself for his advice.

The popular TV personality helped out by sharing: “As someone in this industry, all I really know for sure is that it’s not Kevin McCloud, because he’s Grand Designs.”

Jeremy then added: “Isn’t Sarah Beeny always doing things up? To be honest, I’ve never heard of George Clarke.”

Jeremy shut his eyes, taking his glasses off as he held a hand to his temples in thought.

Ashley admitted that she really wasn’t sure as she “didn’t watch much TV,” so Jeremy had one final suggestion to her.

He said: “It’s not Kevin McCloud but use your 50/50. That’s my final answer.”

The 50/50 lifeline eliminates half of the answer choices available to contestants on the show, giving them less chance of answering incorrectly.

Upon using her 50/50, Ashley was left with options C) Sarah Beeny’s and D) George Clarke.

These were the two Ashley found herself stuck between anyway, so she was still visibly confused.

She rolled her eyes as Jeremy branded the show’s computer as “vindictive”.

Locking in an answer, Ashley rolled her eyes once more saying “it’s probably wrong” – and unfortunately it was.

The answer was D) George Clarke’s.

Saying she really “just didn’t know”, Jeremy apologised for the tough choice she had to make between the two answers at the end but tried to cheer her up.

He said: “At least you get to walk away with £1,000.”
