Royal Family RECAP: Meghan Markle 'not comfortable' with one King Charles wish | Royal | News | Express.co.uk

Meghan Markle is reportedly “not comfortable” with royal rules, including the way King Charles wants to heal the rift with the Sussex family privately. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla earlier this month, met Their Majesties at Highgrove for the top-secret reunion with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

No information following the meeting was shared, apart from the fact it happened, and no photographs have been posted. A royal historian has now spoken about the monarch’s wish to heal the relationship privately between himself and the couple after years of ups and downs. Royal historian Marlene Koenig told the Mirror: “It is inevitable that Harry would want to spend more time in his homeland with his children. Meghan’s perceptions of the UK have been diluted by the perceived behavior against her. But Harry wants his kids to connect with the UK and, perhaps, with family.

“The trust issue is serious. However, the fact that Charles and the Palace apparently took control of the Highgrove meeting – and there have been no leaks – is a sign that Charles wants to heal this relationship privately. Meghan was not comfortable with all the rules. William was right to advise Harry to take his time and not rush into marriage.”

I went on tour with Prince Harry and Meghan – one incident was very odd

Royal reporters had never seen anything like it. A royal tour almost always runs like clockwork and up until then everything had been going to plan.

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, were proving to be a huge hit Down Under as they embarked on a 16-day trip that started in Australia, before moving on to Fiji and Tonga in October 2018.

Meghan just shared her UK holiday photos – King Charles should be nervous

Let’s be real, we all love sharing our holiday snaps online, don’t we? Beach pictures, swimming pool memories, sunset walks. And Meghan Markle is no different.

This week, the Duchess of Sussex shared her favourite memories from her recent European holiday. Pictures of herself, Prince Harry, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were posted on Instagram, showing just how much the family enjoyed their time in Portugal and the UK. And the snaps were all so sweet, showing at their core a lovely, happy family.

But, of course, we all know how it can go – King Charles included.

Royal fans all say the same thing about Prince Harry’s ‘shredded’ back

Royal fans were over the moon after they caught a glimpse of Prince Harry enjoying his summer holidays in Europe in Meghan Markle’s new pictures. The Duchess of Sussex took to her official Instagram account this week to post summer-themed pictures from the family’s time in Portugal and the UK.

One photo shows Harry in a pool, throwing his daughter, Princess Lilibet, head-over-heels in the air while his son, Prince Archie, holds onto the edge of the pool. Another one, shows the whole Sussex family on the beach walking towards some waves. Royal fans were impressed with how toned the duke’s back was and took to social media to share their views.

‘Prince William was right about Meghan – Harry should have listened’

Prince William was “right” about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage, a royal expert has said. William, 44, reportedly warned his brother Prince Harry not to rush into a marriage with Meghan after it was revealed Harry had proposed to her in 2017 – less than two years together.

It is believed William advised his younger brother to slow down and not rush into marrying Meghan. This is because joining the Royal Family can be a lot to manage, with William dating Catherine for almost a decade before exchanging vows with her. Despite the advice from his big brother, Harry did go on to marry Meghan in 2018. They then quit royal life in 2020.

Prince Harry makes unexpected TV cameo as he surprises Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has made an unexpected cameo today as he facetimes his wife Meghan Markle during her Masterchef Australia appearance. In a clip shared by masterchef Australia online, Meghan can be seen being handed a phone in the studio.

She takes the phone to find her husband Prince Harry on a video call, with her face lighting up at seeing her husband. The Duchess of Sussex instantly greets him with “hi, my love”, with cheers from everyone else in the room as she spends time talking to him. She introduces him to the judges and contestants, and can be seen showing him the dishes they are taste-testing.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ‘to give evidence in court’ next week

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is set to give evidence in court next week as the trial of a man accused of threatening him begins. The former prince is expected to give evidence via video link next Wednesday.

The trial comes after Alex Jenkinson was charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to harass someone or cause alarm or distress. One of these is believed to relate to Andrew. Jenkinson appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court via video link the following day after being charged and pleaded not guilty.

A trial date was then set for July 29, with Andrew receiving permission to attend the trial to give evidence by video link only.

Meghan Markle’s royal remark minutes into MasterChef leaves viewers saying same thing

Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance as a guest judge on the cooking show Down Under. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, gushed that she’s “so excited” to be part of the programme as she walked onto the set, dressed all in black. She made her much anticipated debut on the show during her tour of Australia three months ago.

Before the former Suits actress arrived on set, Poh told the contestants she was so excited to introduce the “mystery guest judge” filling in for Andy Allen, who was on paternity leave, that she was trying to refrain from “swearing”.

Meghan turned heads as she strutted into the MasterChef kitchen, much to the shock of the amateur chefs competing to be crowned show champion.

“Welcome. Do I call you Duchess?” Poh asked Meghan, before the pair embraced.

Lipreader reveals Prince George’s sweet nickname for Prince William

Prince William is said to have a few nicknames from his three children, and vice versa. His eldest son, Prince George – who celebrated his 13th birthday earlier this week – is said to have his own sweet nickname for his proud father.

The young royal was last publicly seen chatting and laughing with Prince William at a Wimbledon match earlier this month, where they were also joined by Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte. The two of them were seen showing off their close bond, with George’s adorable nickname for his dad spotted by a lipreader during a public appearance last year.

The Wales family all stepped out to celebrate the VE Day Celebrations last year, with George tapping his father to get his attention. He was then seen saying to William: “Papa, what a sound.”

Sarah Ferguson ‘heartbroken’ over Princess Eugenie’s baby decision

Sarah Ferguson would likely be “heartbroken” if reports that she has been excluded from Princess Eugenie’s birth plans prove true, according to royal expert Jennie Bond. Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are expecting their third child later this summer. However, recent reports have claimed the couple are determined to keep the birth as private as possible, with both Sarah Ferguson and Andrew allegedly set to be kept away from the delivery room and the days immediately following the birth.

According to Closer, Eugenie is focused on ensuring that her third child arrives with “the absolute minimum of fuss.”

Queen Camilla’s summer dress is from the British brand quietly taking over royal wardrobes

With the summer heatwave showing no signs of easing, the search for an elegant throw-on dress has never been more important – and Queen Camilla has just pointed royal fashion fans in the right direction.

Chelsea-based label Lexy London is quietly becoming this season’s breakout royal brand, having already won over Duchess Sophie before now earning the Queen’s seal of approval. The Queen wore the brand’s Deborah Dress in Green Paisley while attending the RHS Sandringham Flower Show on Wednesday.

Featuring a fresh green and white print, the dress is designed with a smart stand collar, gently puffed sleeves, a fitted waist and a softly flared skirt that creates an elegant silhouette. The timeless print and lightweight fabric make it an ideal choice for summer events, from garden parties to afternoon lunches.

Hidden detail in Meghan Markle’s holiday photos you may have missed – and it’s surprising

Meghan Markle shared some holiday photographs from her time in Portugal and the UK this month, and there is one surprising detail people may have missed. In the photographs, Meghan could be seen enjoying time with her husband Prince Harry, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

However, it seems that they are not the only people Meghan enjoyed special summer holiday memories with. This is because one photograph shared by the duchess shows Meghan with her beagle Mamma Mia by a swimming pool. In the background, two people can be seen on sun loungers.

Prince Harry makes a surprise public appearance close to Montecito without Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has made a surprise public appearance this week close to his Montecito mansion. The Duke of Sussex spent a day with One805, a non-profit organisation that helps to support the mental health of first responders in the Santa Barbara County, to share his advice and wisdom about mental health.

The duke was all smiles at the event, which he attended without his wife Meghan Markle. He took part in an hour-long “lively” discussion where he spoke with first responders, and those who support them, about trauma, pressure and mental wellness. It is believed to be something he feels strongly about.

Prince William and Kate’s genius plan before Prince George’s birth to avoid embarrassment

The Prince and Princess of Wales had to come up with a genuine plan to avoid any blunders during their departure from the hospital with their firstborn son, Prince George. Prince George, who this week celebrated his 13th birthday, was born on July 22, 2013, at St Mary’s Hospital in London and the royal couple presented the young prince to the world’s media waiting outside the Lindo Wing of the hospital just days later.

Prince William said his son had a “good set of lungs” and joked that George already had more hair than he did. But the pair had practised their exit several times beforehand to ensure a smooth departure. The Princess of Wales revealed on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, “Happy Mum, Happy Baby”, in 2020 that she and William had even used a doll to practice before putting the newborn prince in a car seat to avoid any embarrassment.

King Charles finally put Meghan Markle in her place – she’ll be furious

OPINION BY ALICIA LIBERTY

Last week, reports emerged that King Charles had opened the doors of Highgrove for a long-awaited reunion with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and his grandchildren. While the meeting understandably dominated headlines, it was what happened afterwards that caught my attention.

Once upon a time, every Sussex story came with an inevitable second act. Buckingham Palace would announce an engagement, a state visit or a major royal milestone, only for the conversation to swing straight back to Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44.

The monarchy often found itself trapped in a seemingly endless cycle where every headline about the Royal Family eventually became another episode in what was beginning to feel like The Sussex Show.

That, however, feels to be changing.

Prince Harry reveals secret Buckingham Palace room he was banned from until age 33

Buckingham Palace has a whopping 775 rooms, with 52 luxurious royal and guest bedrooms, 19 grand State rooms, a staggering 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and more bathrooms than you could ever need, with 78 in residence.

Royalists flock from around the world to get a glimpse inside the palace when it opens to the public in summer, so you may expect the Royal Family would love to explore the chambers that nobody else has access to. However, Prince Harry revealed that he had never been inside one of the rooms until he was aged 33.

The late Queen Elizabeth II kept one space private until one special day when Prince Harry was granted access, as he revealed in his memoir, Spare.

Prince Harry reveals the one thing he loves most about being British

Prince Harry has lived in the US since stepping down from his royal duties in 2020, but even from across the pond, the prince still has a fond love for his country. Harry says “banter” in pubs and sports grounds, and a spirit of good-humoured “self-deprecation” is one of the best things about UK culture.

Last November, Harry wrote a reflection on his country in an essay that was published ahead of Remembrance events. The essay examined what it means to be British, with the prince highlighting some of his favourite aspects of life as a Brit. He penned: “The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands – ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it.”

Real reason Queen Camilla ‘rushed to Highgrove’ for reunion with Harry and Meghan

Queen Camilla may not be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s biggest fan, and rightly so, but reports suggest she rushed to Highgrove earlier this month to join King Charles in reuniting with them. On July 10, it was reported that Their Majesties hosted Harry and Meghan, alongside their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at Highgrove.

No other details were given. This surprised many, not only because the prospect of a reunion seemed to be up in the air, but also because Meghan, Archie and Lilibet had not joined Harry for the rest of his UK visit. This was believed to be because of security concerns. While the monarch has met with his youngest son over the last few years, it is believed Camilla has never been present.

Meghan Markle made ‘good move’ in the UK – and it saved her from utter ‘ridicule’

Meghan Markle reportedly made a “good” decision not to make public appearances in the UK earlier this month, a brand and culture expert has said. Just weeks ago, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, visited Britain with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.

While Harry was in the UK for almost a week, carrying out public engagements and being spotted by the public, this wasn’t the case for his wife and children. This is because they flew into Britain later in the week for private family time only. Some people were disappointed by this, as Meghan was initially expected to make some public appearances, but plans changed after it was revealed that the family would not receive taxpayer-funded armed police protection.
