
But things took a turn for the worst when her Mom was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This made Carly more determined than ever to pursuit her dreams while her Mom was still around to see them come true. That’s why, on Season 16 of “American Idol,” she auditioned with an original song called “I’d Let the Lion Out.
This song, Carly said, was one she wrote at 2 a.m. when her Mom was having a rough night. It’s all about exactly what her Mom has always taught her: to not be afraid to be herself. And in doing so, she won over the judges with her voice, something that is just as unique as her personality!
