As fans reflect on Hayden Panettiere’s life and career following her death at age 36, one of her most memorable musical moments is drawing renewed attention: the night she shared the stage with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler on Nashville.
Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16. Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the devastating news in a statement to ABC News.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” the statement read. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
Reports indicated that Panettiere had been traveling from Los Angeles to the South with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, before her death.
Police in Greenville, South Carolina, said authorities responded to a local apartment complex at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report of an unresponsive woman. The woman was subsequently identified as Panettiere.
At the time of the original report, authorities had not announced an official cause of death, and the investigation remained ongoing as of Monday morning, August 17.

Greenville police said preliminary information did not indicate foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
From Heroes to Nashville
Panettiere built a successful acting career that stretched across television and film.
She became widely recognized for playing Claire Bennet on NBC’s Heroes and appeared in several popular movies, including Remember the Titans, Bring It On: All or Nothing and Ice Princess.
But another defining chapter of her career arrived when she took on the role of country singer Juliette Barnes in Nashville.
Panettiere performed her own vocals on the series, allowing audiences to see a different side of her talent. Her work on the show earned her two Golden Globe nominations, a Critics Choice Award nomination and recognition from the People’s Choice Awards.
Although Nashville concluded in 2018, many of its musical performances have continued to resonate with viewers.
Hayden Panettiere and Steven Tyler Take On “Crazy”
Among Panettiere’s standout musical moments was an unexpected collaboration with Steven Tyler during Nashville’s Season 4 premiere in 2015.
The pair performed Patsy Cline’s classic “Crazy,” with Panettiere initially taking the stage alone as Juliette Barnes in front of a packed arena.
As the performance unfolded, Tyler emerged and joined her, transforming the solo number into a duet between the Nashville star and the legendary Aerosmith singer.
Their appearance brought together two very different musical worlds, with Panettiere’s country character sharing the spotlight with one of rock music’s most recognizable frontmen.
Years after the scene originally aired, the performance remains one of the musical highlights associated with Panettiere’s time on Nashville — and now serves as another reminder of the range she displayed throughout her career.
