For longtime fans of Shelton and Stefani, Betty was more than a family pet. She also appeared alongside the couple in the music video for “Nobody But You.”
During an interview with CMT, Shelton was asked about Betty jumping around the couple in the video and whether the dog had been jealous.
Shelton, the former The Voice coach, explained that Betty had become Stefani’s dog, which was where the jealousy came in.
Stefani added that Betty loved both of her parents very much.
The appearance became one of the many memories fans could look back on following the announcement of Betty’s death.
Fans share their condolences
Stefani’s Instagram post quickly prompted an outpouring of sympathy from followers who had watched Betty become part of the couple’s lives over the years.
One fan expressed their sorrow while thanking Stefani for sharing so many moments with Betty, saying those posts had allowed others to experience the happiness the dog brought to the world.
Another follower reflected on the particular pain of losing a beloved pet, offering Shelton and Stefani wishes for peace and comfort during the difficult time.
The tributes highlighted just how familiar Betty had become to fans who had followed the couple throughout the years.
Betty’s final appearances with Stefani

The news comes only weeks after fans saw Betty in another Instagram video shared by Stefani.
Last month, Stefani posted footage of herself spending time with Betty inside a trailer while she made a surprise appearance during Shelton’s VOA Country Music Festival concert.
The moment offered another glimpse of the dog who had remained an important part of their lives for so many years.
Shelton and Stefani began dating in 2015 before marrying in 2021. According to People, the couple also share a dog named Ginger and a cat named Corn.
Stefani is also mother to three sons — Kingston, 20, Zuma, 18, and Apollo, 12 — from her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale.
After 18 years with Betty, Shelton and Stefani are now saying goodbye to a much-loved member of their family whose presence had brought them joy for nearly two decades.
