He Tried To Hold It In And The Moment Spilled Over On Stage As Alan Jackson Moved An Entire Room To Silence At The ACM Awards

Country music has been around for many years and more than likely, you have a favorite country music singer, even if you aren’t a big fan of the genre. For many, that favorite singer is Alan Jackson.

Recently, Alan Jackson was at the ACM awards to receive the ACM Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award. The date was May 8, 2025, and in Jackson was on hand to receive the award that was named after him.

It happened in Frisco, Texas, when Reba McEntire was hosting and invited the country music legend so she could present him with the award. It was right after he sang ‘Remember When’ and Reba said about how much of an honor it was when she handed him the trophy. She said: “Alan, you know we love you.”

Jackson went up to the microphone to give his acceptance speech and you could tell that he was really feeling the emotions of the moment. He said: “Usually one of my fans tells me they named their dog after me, and I thought that was really something.

“I came to Nashville with a paper sack full of songs and a crazy dream, and that all these years later I’m standing here receiving such an honor is mind-blowing. I thank God all the time, for all the people that have been part of my life and career, that helped me get here and maintain this all this time.”

Jackson then thanked his wife for all that she is done. He said: “The one person, who’s been my best friend since I was 17 years old — That’s my wife Denise out there. She’s loved me through the good and the bad, the happy and the sad. Influenced me, gave me three beautiful daughters, and she’s helped me keep my feet on the ground all these years. I would not be here without her.”
