Cameron Diaz’s Netflix Action Comedy Bad Day Gets Release Date and First-Look Images
Cameron Diaz is continuing her return to the screen with Bad Day, a new Netflix action comedy that now has both an official release date and its first batch of images.
After stepping away from acting for a decade, Diaz has returned with a string of new projects, and Bad Day looks set to keep her in action-comedy territory. The film will arrive on Netflix on 11 December, with Diaz leading a cast that includes Ed O’Neill and Danielle Brooks.
Cameron Diaz faces the worst day of her life

In Bad Day, Diaz plays a single mother determined to keep a small promise she made to her daughter, despite everything going wrong around her.
According to Tudum, the story unfolds over what becomes the “absolute worst day of her life.” The newly released first-look images offer an early glimpse of just how chaotic that day is likely to become.
One of the stills shows Diaz’s character looking deeply concerned while sitting on a bus driven by O’Neill. The vehicle appears to be anything but safely under control, hinting at the kind of trouble the protagonist will encounter throughout the film.
Another image features Brooks as a police detective. Her presence suggests that the single mother’s increasingly chaotic efforts may bring her into conflict with the law, although the full circumstances will remain under wraps until the movie is released.
The ensemble cast also includes Sam Richardson, Ben Schwartz, Mark Duplass, John Higgins, Jessica Belkin, Rhenzy Feliz, PJ Byrne and Retta.
A reunion with the team behind Back in Action

Bad Day is directed by Jake Szymanski, whose credits include Jury Duty, with Laura Solon writing the screenplay.
Solon is also an executive producer on the film, alongside Mark Moran. Beau Bauman is producing through Good One Productions.
Bauman previously produced Back in Action, the Netflix movie that marked Diaz’s return to acting after an 11-year absence. The film paired Diaz with Jamie Foxx, along with Andrew Scott, and proved popular with Netflix viewers, recording more than 46 million views during its first three days.
Back in Action follows Emily and Matt, a married couple played by Diaz and Foxx who are also retired CIA agents. Their quiet life is disrupted when their cover is exposed, forcing them back into the world of espionage. Returning to their former lives proves considerably more difficult than expected.
Diaz’s busy return to acting

Bad Day is one of several projects keeping Diaz busy following her long break from acting.
She also appeared alongside Keanu Reeves and Drew Barrymore in Outcome, an Apple TV comedy written and directed by Jonah Hill.
The actor has another project in development as well: an untitled romantic comedy that Stephen Merchant is set to write, direct and star in.
Diaz will also return to one of her most recognizable roles, voicing Fiona in the highly anticipated Shrek 5.
For now, her next major release is Bad Day, which will debut exclusively on Netflix on 11 December.
