For Line of Duty fans waiting for season seven, a new six-part police thriller may be worth adding to the watchlist. Hit Point has already caught viewers’ attention with its tense story, sharp humour and twists, following two police officers whose latest investigation takes them deep into London’s criminal underworld.

The series comes from BAFTA-winning writer Howard Overman, known for Misfits, with David Caffrey, whose credits include The Gentlemen and Peaky Blinders, directing. Nick Blood and BAFTA nominee Saffron Hocking lead the cast as detective partners Leo and Bella.

The pair are called in after three men wearing animal masks intercept a Range Rover carrying £10 million in cash. As they investigate the robbery, Leo and Bella become caught up in a dangerous search for answers that leads them further into London’s criminal underworld.

At the same time, an unexpected will-they-won’t-they romance develops between the two officers, adding another complication to an already volatile investigation.

The series asks: “do we actually want them to catch the criminals? All is not as it seems.”

Hit Point is described as a fast-moving thriller filled with sharp humour and action, with its story exploring loyalty, buried secrets and a romance that could prove more dangerous than either detective expects.

Peter Serafinowicz, who appeared in The Gentlemen, plays Carter, a former police officer. William Abadie, known for Emily in Paris, portrays Pascal Dubois, a menacing crime boss.

The supporting cast includes Brendan Coyle from Toxic Town, Nadia Parkes from Kidnapped: The Chloe Ayling Story, Moe Bar-El from Alien: Earth, Ossian Perret from The Last Kingdom, and Joshua Sher from The Undeclared War.
