Netflix’s The Gentlemen is proving that Guy Ritchie’s crime universe still has plenty of staying power. Even after its second season arrived more than two years after the original, the series continues to pull in millions of viewers worldwide.
The latest Netflix figures show just how strong that momentum remains. During the week of September 28 to October 4, both seasons of The Gentlemen appeared among Netflix’s most-watched English-language TV titles globally, combining for 33.2 million hours viewed. Season 2 accounted for the larger share, but the continued performance of Season 1 is equally notable.

Both Seasons of The Gentlemen Remain Netflix Hits
Netflix’s weekly rankings placed The Gentlemen Season 2 at No. 6 among English-language TV shows worldwide for the September 28 to October 4 period. Season 1 was still going strong at No. 9.
Season 2 recorded 21.8 million hours viewed, translating to 2.9 million views under Netflix’s viewing metric. The season has now spent five weeks in the global Top 10.
Season 1 added another 11.4 million hours viewed, or 1.7 million views, during the same week. Its longevity is even more impressive, with the first season reaching 15 weeks on Netflix’s global Top 10.

Together, the two seasons generated 33.2 million hours viewed around the world in a single week.
For comparison, East of Eden led Netflix’s English-language TV chart for the week with 6.5 million views.
Season 2 has maintained a particularly strong position since arriving on Netflix. The eight-episode season premiered on September 3, 2026, with every episode released at once. Guy Ritchie co-wrote all eight episodes and directed the first two.

Guy Ritchie Has Become a Streaming Regular
The success of The Gentlemen adds another major streaming achievement to Guy Ritchie’s recent television work.
Ritchie was involved with Prime Video’s Young Sherlock, which reimagines Sherlock Holmes during the early stages of his career, with Hero Fiennes Tiffin playing the legendary detective. The series became a global success and was renewed for a second season.
Ritchie is also closely associated with Paramount+’s crime drama MobLand, starring Tom Hardy. The series is currently in its second season, with a third season also confirmed.
Now, The Gentlemen has firmly established itself as another successful chapter in Ritchie’s television career. Netflix renewed the series for Season 3 in August 2026, well before the second season even premiered.
That early renewal also made it clear that Netflix had confidence in the crime drama’s future. Season 3 will consist of eight episodes, with Ritchie returning to direct and co-write the next chapter with Matthew Read.

Season 2 Raised the Stakes for Eddie and Susie
The first season of The Gentlemen premiered on March 7, 2024, introducing Theo James’ Eddie Horniman and Kaya Scodelario’s Susie Glass as they became increasingly entangled in Britain’s criminal underworld.
More than two years later, Season 2 picked up with Eddie and Susie expanding their cannabis operation and pushing the business beyond its previous limits.
This time, their ambitions take them into dealings involving the Italian mafia, while Eddie also becomes increasingly focused on his place in British high society and politics. The expansion puts additional pressure on his relationship with Susie and his dealings with Bobby Glass, played by Ray Winstone.
Netflix’s official description of the second season makes clear that Eddie is no longer simply trying to survive the criminal world he inherited. He is actively trying to expand his empire, a move that brings new risks and forces him and Susie to reconsider their partnership.
The eight episodes were all released on September 3, with the season taking Eddie and the other characters through an increasingly complicated mix of criminal business, family conflict and political ambition.

What Season 3 Means for The Gentlemen
The early Season 3 renewal was announced on August 23, 2026, just days before Season 2 arrived on Netflix. The streamer confirmed that The Gentlemen would return, with Guy Ritchie once again directing.
By the end of Season 2, Eddie has suffered a major loss that is likely to shape the character going forward. His response could harden him considerably, while his relationship with Susie faces its own uncertain future.

That gives Season 3 plenty to build on without needing to abandon the central dynamic that has driven the series so far. Eddie and Susie’s criminal partnership has become increasingly complicated as their ambitions have grown, and the events of the second season leave both characters with plenty to resolve.
For Netflix, meanwhile, the continued performance of both seasons is an encouraging sign. The Gentlemen has managed to bring its original audience back for a second season while also keeping the first season visible on the global chart. With 33.2 million hours viewed in a single week and a third season already confirmed, Guy Ritchie’s Netflix crime series remains one of the platform’s notable English-language TV performers.
