Dara Huang Sparks Engagement Speculation With Diamond Ring Photo
A single black-and-white photograph has sent Dara Huang’s followers into a frenzy, after the architect appeared to show a large diamond ring on her finger alongside a message about still believing in love.
The post has prompted widespread engagement speculation, coming six years after Huang’s former fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, married Princess Beatrice.
A cryptic photograph fuels speculation
Huang shared a series of photographs and videos on Instagram on Wednesday, with each slide built around a variation of the phrase, “kinda chic to…”.
The final image was the one that immediately caught her followers’ attention. In the black-and-white photograph, Huang could be seen inside a car holding the hand of another person.
A large diamond ring was visible on her ring finger, while red lettering across the image read: “kinda chic to still believe in love”.
Huang did not explicitly say that she was engaged, nor did she identify the person whose hand she was holding.
That did little to stop followers from interpreting the image as a possible announcement. Several quickly flooded the comments with congratulations.
“Wow congratulations,” one follower wrote.
Another asked whether the post was an engagement or wedding announcement, adding: “If so congratulations, you deserve every happiness! Beautiful ring set!”

Huang hints at a new chapter
The message accompanying the post appeared to reflect on a period of major change in Huang’s life.
She wrote: “It’s kinda chic to not be afraid. Be your own destiny and start over any time!
“I became a single mother at 37 and I started my second company at 40, and I’ve just started working on my biggest challenge.”
She continued: “So chase your dreams, do your best every day, love like there’s no tomorrow and don’t think life is over when it’s only just begun.”
Huang ended the caption with a red heart and praying-hands emoji.
Her comments about love, combined with the striking diamond ring photograph, quickly led followers to wonder whether she was marking the beginning of a new chapter in her personal life.
However, she has not publicly confirmed an engagement.
Huang and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s past relationship
Huang was previously engaged to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, with whom she shares a 10-year-old son, Christopher Woolf, known as Wolfie.
Mapelli Mozzi later began a relationship with Princess Beatrice, and the couple announced their engagement in September 2019.
They married on July 17, 2020, in a private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The wedding took place six years ago last month, adding particular significance to the timing of Huang’s latest social media post.
Princess Beatrice also celebrated her 38th birthday last weekend, while Mapelli Mozzi publicly praised his wife on social media in a rare tribute.
When Beatrice married Mapelli Mozzi, she became stepmother to Wolfie.
The couple have since welcomed two daughters: Sienna, who was born in September 2021, and Athena, who was born in January 2025.

Huang has previously spoken about the challenge of balancing motherhood with her professional career. In her latest post, she reflected on becoming a single mother at 37, starting her second company at 40 and taking on what she described as her “biggest challenge.”
