Prince Harry’s return to Britain has brought him physically closer to his brother Prince William than he has been in years. But according to reports, the move has not brought the brothers any closer emotionally — and William is reportedly unwilling to let a public photograph suggest otherwise.

Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after six years living in California. The family is expected to remain in Britain for an extended period, with the children beginning school in the UK, although the Sussexes are not returning as working royals.

The development has inevitably revived questions about whether Harry and William could finally repair their relationship.

For now, however, reports suggest there is little indication of an imminent public reunion.

William reportedly wants private progress before public appearances

According to claims cited by RadarOnline, William does not want to appear alongside Harry at a public engagement simply to create the impression that the brothers have reconciled.

An unnamed source claimed the Prince of Wales believes Harry’s decision to return to Britain does not, by itself, repair years of conflict and damaged trust.

The reported concern is straightforward: if the brothers were photographed together at an official or high-profile event, the images would almost certainly be interpreted as evidence that their relationship had been restored.

William is said to believe that any genuine reconciliation would need to happen away from the cameras first.

The claim has not been confirmed by Kensington Palace, and there is no official statement saying William has refused all future public appearances with Harry. It should therefore be treated as a report about his alleged position rather than an established royal policy.

Still, the broader picture is consistent with other reporting that describes the brothers’ relationship as deeply fractured.
