Meghan Markle ‘Feels Isolated’ In Britain After Major Sacrifice — She’s Reportedly Missing The Life She Left Behind

Just weeks after making the dramatic move back to Britain, Meghan Markle is reportedly struggling with homesickness and feeling increasingly isolated — with one source claiming she is missing a familiar face more than anything else.

The Duchess of Sussex, 45, returned to the UK on August 26 with Prince Harry and their two children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, after spending six years living in California. The family is understood to be based in the Cotswolds, where they are said to be concentrating on helping their children settle into their new surroundings.

But while the return has been described in some reports as the beginning of an exciting new chapter, another account paints a very different picture of Meghan’s experience.

‘She is very homesick’

Meghan Markle Is 'Very Homesick' Amid U.K. Return: 'She Misses Her Mom'

According to a source speaking to In Touch, Meghan is particularly missing her mother, Doria Ragland, who has remained in the US.

“She is very homesick,” the source claimed, adding that Meghan misses “her mom, her friends, the beach, even her chickens.”

The distance from her old life is reportedly making the transition more difficult, particularly after years of having a greater sense of freedom in California.

The source claimed Meghan could previously get into her car, go shopping or meet someone for lunch without giving it much thought. In Britain, however, she is said to feel considerably more nervous about being out in public.

That, according to the source, has left her with “a real sense of isolation.”

A return reportedly made for Harry

Another source made an even more striking claim, suggesting Meghan agreed to the move back to Britain largely to “make Harry happy again.”

The source alleged: “If she could go back home tomorrow, she would.”

But, they added, returning to the US so soon is reportedly “not in the cards”, with even a short business trip potentially being viewed as an admission that the move had not worked out as planned.

Meghan and Harry

For now, Meghan and Harry are understood to be focused on their children as Archie and Lilibet adjust to life in Britain.

The family’s return marks a major change after years in California, but these latest claims suggest the reality of starting over in the UK may be proving far more complicated for Meghan than the picture of a fresh family chapter might suggest.
