Yungblud turned an injury into an unforgettable rock ’n’ roll moment, crowd-surfing in a wheelchair as stunned fans carried him above their heads mid-performance.

A broken leg may have limited Yungblud’s usual movement onstage, but it didn’t stop him from getting remarkably close to the crowd.

During his performance in Portugal on Tuesday, the injured singer took crowd-surfing to an unusual new level, heading out over the audience while still seated in his wheelchair and with his leg in a cast.

The injury happened earlier this month, just hours before Yungblud was scheduled to perform at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 9.

He later revealed that he had broken his leg in a dirt-bike accident. Rather than cancel the Sturgis appearance, however, he went ahead with the concert while acknowledging that fans wouldn’t be getting quite the same physically energetic performance they were accustomed to seeing.

“I’m not gonna be able to hop around and fucking shake my ass like I normally do,” Yungblud told the audience while holding a bottle of Jack Daniel’s.

He then added: “However, I’m gonna keep drinking this Jack.”

Despite the injury, Yungblud also confirmed that his upcoming European performances would proceed as planned.

That commitment brought him to Portugal’s Vilar de Mouros festival on Tuesday night.

With his injured leg still in a cast, Yungblud was wheeled onto the stage by scantily clad nurses. The wheelchair became part of the evening rather than keeping him away from the action.

At one point, Yungblud ventured directly into the audience while remaining seated in the chair, crowd-surfing above concertgoers as they carried him through the crowd.

Afterward, the singer appeared to recognize the irony of doing something so adventurous while already recovering from an accident.

“Good way to break my leg …,” he joked on social media following the performance.

Yungblud still has another performance to complete before getting a chance to give his injured leg some extended rest.

His itinerary includes a Friday night appearance at Belgium’s Pukkelpop festival.

Once that show is finished, the singer will finally have an opportunity to recover in a manner likely to be considerably closer to conventional medical advice than crowd-surfing through a festival audience in a wheelchair.
