Noah Wyle and Wife Sara Wells Share a Sweet Emmys Red Carpet Moment as The Pitt Leads the Night With 25 Nominations

Noah Wyle had one of television’s biggest nights to celebrate — and he had his longtime wife, Sara Wells, by his side.
The 55-year-old The Pitt star arrived at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on September 14 with Wells, 47, as the HBO Max medical drama entered the ceremony as the most-nominated program of the year with 25 nods.
Wyle and Wells looked close as they posed together on the red carpet, with the actor wrapping an arm around his wife. The couple, who married in 2014, share 11-year-old daughter Frances. Wyle is also father to 23-year-old Owen and 20-year-old Auden from his previous marriage to Tracy Warbin.

Wyle opted for a polished evening look, wearing a silver tuxedo jacket with skinny black trousers, a white dress shirt and black bow tie. He also kept the facial hair that has become part of his look as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch.
Wells complemented him in a strapless black jeweled gown, accessorized with layered diamond necklaces and a gold satin clutch. Her hairstyle, styled with a Marilyn Monroe-inspired look, completed the glamorous ensemble.
The appearance offered a quieter personal moment amid an especially significant evening for Wyle and The Pitt.
Wyle was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Robby, the exhausted but determined doctor at the center of the medical drama. He was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series as an executive producer and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
The Pitt Dominates the 2026 Emmy Race

The second season of The Pitt led all programs with 25 Emmy nominations, putting the series ahead of Hacks, which received 24 nominations for its fifth and final season.
The medical drama follows Robby and his colleagues through the intense realities of working in a Pittsburgh emergency department. Its second season expanded the show’s awards presence, earning 13 acting nominations alongside recognition for Outstanding Drama Series.
The strong showing followed an already successful first season. The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys, while Wyle took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance as Robby.
At the 2026 ceremony, Wyle once again won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, marking his second consecutive Emmy in the category. The Pitt also won Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row.
A New Chapter Is Already Ahead

The success of The Pitt is set to continue beyond the Emmys. HBO Max has renewed the series for a third season, with the new installment scheduled to return in January 2027.
The third season continues to star Wyle as Robby and is once again led by creator R. Scott Gemmill, with Wyle also serving as an executive producer.
For Wyle, the latest Emmy recognition adds another milestone to a career that has already included his long-running role as Dr. John Carter on ER. For Wells, the evening was also a chance to stand alongside her husband as The Pitt reached another major point in its remarkable awards run.
And with another season already on the way, the couple had plenty to celebrate together on one of television’s biggest nights.
